Daging Rendang Tok
Dry-Braised Beef Rendang
Slow-cooked beef in rich coconut milk and toasted kerisik, following the recipe Pak Din's mother carried down from Perak.

Authentic flavours, family recipes, and the timeless spirit of the Malaysian kampung.

Warung Pak Din began in 1984 as a zinc-roofed stall beside the old Simpang Ampat trunk road, where Pak Din sold nasi lemak bungkus wrapped in banana leaf to rubber tappers on their way to the estate. Four decades on, three generations of the same family still grind the rempah by hand every morning, still tend the charcoal by eye, and still open the doors before seven. The recipes have not been modernised, only written down.
The same rumah terbuka welcome that filled thirty seats in the old shophouse now fills 96, and Shahrudin bin Hassan (Pak Din) still checks the charcoal before anyone else is allowed near it.
